The Summer Internship Program 2009 at IILM-GSM has concluded on a successful note. Companies vied with each other to select our first year students for their internship.
As many as 15 sectors offered summer jobs, i.e. ABB Limited, Jindal Steels, Motherson Sumi, Tata Steel (Manufacturing), HDFC, HSBC, Kotak Mahindra, Standard Chartered (Banking), Khaitan, Orient, Panasonic (Consumer Durable), Kotak Securities, Reliance Money, Sharekhan, Unicon (Financial Sector), Amul, Dabur, Coca-Cola, Britannia, Nestle (FMCG), HP Computers, Hero Corporate Services (IT), Apollo, Glaxo, Ranbaxy, Lupin (Pharma), BHEL, FCI, IOCL, IFFCO, NTPC, ONGC, SAIL (PSU), Aircel, Bharti, Hotspot, Reliance, Tata, Vodafone (Telecom) etc.
Britannia, Bharti Teletech, Religare and Standard Charterd Bank were among the largest recruiters this year making the maximum number of offers. Reflecting the growing brand equity of IILM-GSM’s, this year saw a significant increase in the institute s first time recruiters Britannia, Exide Industries, General Motors, Khaitan Limited, Nestle India in addition to regular premier recruiters like Standard Chartered Bank, Share Khan, Gallup , HT, Max Newyork, ICICI bank etc.
The Banking, Finance and Insurance sector ranked among students top preferences with 32% accepted offers across companies in this sector. Besides the top banks like HDFC, ICICI Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, India Bulls, Share Khan, Religare and NJ India the Investment Company which debuted on campus and selected students. Max Newyork with 7 accepted offers led the Insurance sector, with SBI Life (a first time participant) and Bajaj Alliance also participating.
IILM-GSM’s track record as Finance and research favorite was diversified by the active participation of top organizations from other sectors like Media, F&B, Manufacturing and Consumer Durables.
The new entrants in the telecom sector was Bharti Teletech (Beetel) and Aircel, each with 1 accepted offers. Other companies like UB group, Team Lease, Pepsi and Cadbury recruited summer interns for the first time as well.
