Programme Structure


The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) at IILM Graduate School of Management caters to the demand of management professionals and prepares its graduating students for challenging careers through an intensive and rigorous curriculum. IILM GSM believes in holistic development of the students and their participation in the education programme, instills into them professionalism, critical thinking, ability to work hard, and take decisions. The Institute also exposes the students to all aspects of management and its various facets like environment protection, human values, social responsibility, information and communication systems and so forth. IILM GSM is a centre of excellence in value based education, training, research and consultancy. IILM GSM’s mission is to develop tomorrow's business leaders through integrated learning and industry-academic partnerships.


The PGDM programme is divided into four semesters further divided into 8 terms of equal duration. The students are expected to cover around 22 full credits from core courses and 12 full credits from electives.


A full credit course is comprised of 3 credits with a minimum of 3 contact classes per week. A half-credit course is comprised of 1.5 credits with a minimum of 2 classes per week. Student must also do at least two of the Experiential learning courses to qualify for the post-graduate diploma. Students need to opt for one major elective by the end of Term 3 and undertake the prescribed one full credit course during Term 4 before they proceed for Summer Training. The elective offerings are as follows:


  • For Dual Specialization (6 + 6), student will have to opt for 6 electives each from any two steams.
  • For Major-Minor Specialization (9 + 3), student will have to opt for 9 electives from any one stream and 3 electives from
    any other.

The Institute offers major specialization in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management and minor specialization besides all of the above, in the areas of International Business, Information Technology, Operations Management, and Entrepreneurship & Family Business. The Institute may change or add any major or minor area depending on the assessment of industry requirements and students preferences. In addition, the Institute also offers various value added courses which are mandatory for students.


It is mandatory to undergo two month summer internship with a corporate house after the completion of first year.
